Aspiring Leaders Programme


Manawatu Cricket Association are excited to announce their new Aspiring Leaders Programme. Registrations are now open for the upcoming season!

This programme aims to build confident, capable young people who can be role models in our cricket community. Participants will engage in workshops to grow their skills in coaching, leadership and officiating then be given the chance to apply their skills in our community. The programme also gives participants the opportunity to connect with experts who have international experience in their field.

Key Objectives: 

  1. Grow confidence among young people in our cricket community.

  2. Provide meaningful and targeted development in specific areas of interest.

  3. Retain participants with regular opportunities and ongoing support on an individual basis to practice their chosen skill. 


Coaching workshops begin Thursday 12th September.

  • Creative coaching and game creation

  • Practical coaching session


Leadership workshops begin Thursday 17th October.

  • Leading Self 

  • Leading Others

  • Leading Teams


Officiating workshops begin Thursday 7th November.

  • Introduction to umpiring and game scenarios

  • Rules of the game

  • Q&A with an international official


This season we are opening registrations to females only between the ages of 15-20 years old. Spaces are limited so get in quick!
