In Season Development Programme
Manawatū Cricket is pleased to announce our new In Season Development Programme which provides skill development during the cricket season for those who want to improve. This programme replaces previous Super League & Premier League programmes.
The programme will be held on week days with players choosing their training day
External coaches will provide specialist support
Weekly trainings will focus on individual skill development
Players will be grouped in either Cornerstone or Extension based on the first two training sessions
Extension players will attend a tournament or festival in April
Year 9 Boys
We are excited to announce a collaboration between Manawatū Cricket and Cricket Wellington in the Year 9 Boys space. We have committed to providing a development opportunity to more young cricketers. The tournament will provide the culmination of a 9 week development programme led by association staff.
The purpose of the Year 9 Development Programme is to expose more young cricketers who are ready for an extension opportunity, the chance to grow their skill sets but also experience competition at the season ending tournament.
The tournament will be held in Whanganui with Cricket Wellington and other Central Districts DAs teams attending.
All players involved in the Cornerstone group will receive weekly training and depending on numbers, we will look to identify playing opportunities for these players.
Training will be either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon/evening at Ongley Park & NZCT Centre.
9 week training block $160
Tournament in Whanganui from the 12th-15th April 2025
Tournament cost $300

Year 7&8 Boys
The purpose of the Year 7&8 Development Programme is to provide more young cricketers, an opportunity and the chance to grow their skill sets but also experience competition at the season ending festival.
The festival will be held in Whanganui with Cricket Wellington and other Central Districts DAs teams attending.
All players involved in the Cornerstone group will receive weekly training and depending on numbers, we will look to identify playing opportunities for these players.
Training will be either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon/evening at Ongley Park & NZCT Centre.
